Message from the Dean

Dear Academicians, Beloved Students, and Distinguished Visitors,

As the Ege University Faculty of Dentistry, we bear the responsibility of being one of our country's pioneering institutions in oral and dental health education, drawing confidence from our deep-rooted history of over half a century and our strong academic and administrative staff. Our primary priority is to train well-equipped dentists who will make qualified contributions to public health in the light of research and scientific principles. In addition, we aim to remain among the leading faculties in our country through the research we conduct and the treatment services we provide in the field of oral and dental health.

Our institution, which takes pride in being the first faculty of dentistry in Turkey to receive educational accreditation, is a pioneer that has certified its educational quality according to national standards. In prestigious academic rankings such as URAP and ARWU, our faculty consistently ranks at the top among many dental faculties both globally and within Turkey. The most important element that makes our faculty privileged is our distinguished faculty members and administrative staff, who maintain these high standards and carry our long-standing academic tradition into the future. In today’s world, where knowledge is updated rapidly, the scientific projects and international publications carried out by our faculty members strengthen our position in the global academic literature every day.

Dentistry education requires a strong medical-based infrastructure in addition to the acquisition of professional knowledge and skills. We support this holistic approach with our modern dentistry infrastructure, advanced clinical facilities, and technical equipment that adapts to the requirements of a digitalizing world. We work meticulously to ensure our students graduate as competent and modern physicians. Alongside clinical proficiency and manual skills, instilling a professional stance committed to ethical values and a high sense of responsibility is a fundamental element of our educational philosophy.

Our faculty does not limit its success to a local scale but adopts being active in the international arena as a core vision. Student and faculty exchanges carried out through Erasmus+ and similar international cooperation programs enrich our academic environment while providing our students with a global perspective by allowing them to experience different cultures and clinical approaches.

Furthermore, our faculty continues its leading role in the field of health services. Our Oral and Dental Health Hospital, with its A+ hospital status, continues to provide qualified, patient-satisfaction-oriented health services in İzmir and the Aegean Region.
